Spy cam resolution is something that a lot of people are not familiar with, but in reality, it is one of the most important features to consider when comparing various spy cameras for purchase. Whether you are buying a spy camera for your home or workplace, pay close attention to LOR, which stands for "lines of resolution". It is essential to have a spy camera with the proper resolution in order to catch a cheating spouse or clearly identify a person who has committed a crime. The clarity of resolution of your spy camera can make the difference of you being able to prove without a doubt that you are a victim of a crime or infidelity.

Here is how the industry defines LOR: The resolution of a security camera or spy cam is defined by the total number of horizontal lines (left to right) fill the screen. Each of these horizontal lines is comprised of a particular number of pixels. The greater the number of lines that appear from left to right, the more pixel you will have on your screen. So, what does this mean? It means that the more lines of resolution your spy camera has, the more clear your image will appear on your screen. It's a sharper picture.

It's a little known fact that many black and white spy cameras have more LOR than their color counterparts. Many of our customers believe that a color spy camera is always more desirable and provides better quality. I always let my customers make up their own mind, but I am always sure to point out the fact that a black and white spy camera usually has a clearer picture, usually 420 lines of resolution. A B&W spy cam usually also has a lower lux rating, giving the user a brighter picture when recording in low light environments.

In addition to resolution, another thing you need to consider when purchasing your spy camera is your method of playback. Your spy cam might have 420 or 500 lines of resolution, but ultimately, the clarity of playback will depend on the screen, tv or monitor that you use to review your recording.
